The purpose of this service is to allow property owners and the engineering offices to apply for renovation permit. The renovation permit is a legal document that gives the right to renovate a building without affecting the structural framework of the building, external building features or components.

  1. Submitting the Application Electronically
  2. Property owners and engineering offices can submit renovation application through Benayat system directly. Alternatively, the engineering office can submit the application through Benayat system based on the agreement between the owner and the engineering office. The engineering office will handle all necessary tasks for applying for the permit on behalf of the property owner (Click here to view list of the licensed engineering offices).

  3. Initial request stage
  4. The applicant should select renovation service from other building permits service type, and enter the required information for the request in this stage, which includes:

    • Applicant Details
    • Other owners / Inheritors details (If any)
    • Tenant Details (If any)
    • Land Details
    • Renovation Details
    • Electrical Load Details (if needed)
    • Attachments

  5. Review Stage
    1. Initial review stage:

      The request will be initially reviewed by the concerned municipality based in the location within one day. And then the request will be sent to internal consultation if required and for external consultation based on the pre-defined conditions in the system.

    2. Consultation stage:
      1. Internal consultation – If required:

        Based on the request condition, the request will be Inspected by the concerned Municipality.

      2. External consultation (concerned government entities) – If any:

        Based on the request pre-defined conditions, the request will be distributed to the concerned Governmental entities automatically. These conditions and cases are outlined in the below table:

    4. Final Review Stage

      After receiving all internal and external consultations feedback the concerned municipality will review the application and take the final decision.

  6. Payment stage
  7. The Property owner / or engineering office should pay the required fees to issue the Permit automatically from the system, which includes:

    • Renovation Permit and Insurance Fees: Fees will be calculated as showing in the table below:

  8. Issue Renovation Permit electronically
  9. Once all the renovation building permit fees are paid, the system will instantly issue an electronic renovation permit. The permit is valid for one year from the date of issuance.

  11. The applicant can print the building Permit from Benayat system after it has been issued.
